Modular Renovation Bengaluru

Renovate What Needs It. Leave What Still Works.

Most kitchens brought to us do not need rebuilding. They need the shutters, the hardware and sometimes the counter replaced, on a carcass that is still sound. We survey first, tell you which parts of your kitchen still have life in them, and scope the job to that.

The survey decides the scope. Not the quote.

What Does Kitchen Renovation Include in Bangalore?

Kitchen renovation covers anything from replacing the shutters on an existing carcass through to stripping the kitchen back to the wall and rebuilding it. The scope is decided by the condition of the carcass, which is the box fixed to your wall, and not by how old the kitchen looks. A kitchen can look tired and still be structurally fine.

That distinction matters in Bengaluru, where humidity and long monsoons age laminate, edge banding and hinges considerably faster than they age the structure underneath. The most common outcome we see in five to fifteen year old flats is that the box is sound and only what you touch every day has worn out.

Why we survey before quoting. A quote given over the phone or from photographs is a guess about the carcass. If the guess is wrong in your favour the price moves later, and if it is wrong in ours you pay for work you did not need. Neither is acceptable, so we look first.

What We Do, and What We Do Not

We do interiors renovation only. That means everything made of board, fitted with hardware or finished as a surface. We do not do structural or civil work, and that is a deliberate boundary rather than a limitation. It is exactly what lets this work happen without demolition, without drying time and usually without you moving out.

We doWe do not
Kitchen and wardrobe joineryKnocking down or building walls
Shutters, hinges, channels, handlesMasonry and plastering
Rebuilding failed carcass unitsFloor and wall tiling
Countertop supply and fittingBathroom waterproofing
Internal accessories and organisersMoving plumbing or drainage runs
Relamination of sound existing panelsRewiring or moving electrical points

If the survey finds something in the right column has to happen first, we say so and you bring in a civil contractor before we start. We would rather tell you that than take on work we are not set up to stand behind.

The Four Scopes, and How We Choose One

Almost every kitchen renovation falls into one of four scopes. The survey decides which one applies, and we will always recommend the smallest scope that actually solves the problem.

ScopeWhat changesWhen it applies
Shutters onlyShutters, hinges, handlesCarcass sound, hardware still serviceable, kitchen looks dated
Shutters and hardwareShutters, all hinges, channels, drawer boxes, accessoriesThe most common scope. Doors sag, drawers jam, everything else holds
Shutters, hardware and counterThe above plus countertop and sinkCounter is chipped, stained or cracked, or you are changing the sink
Rebuild the affected unitsNew carcass for the failed units, retained elsewhereBase units swollen through, hinge seats no longer hold, termite damage

A rebuild is rarely the whole kitchen. It is usually the two or three base units nearest the sink, with the rest of the run retained.

What Does Kitchen Renovation Cost in Bangalore?

Cost tracks the scope rather than the size of the kitchen. We price per square foot of the work actually done, measured at the survey. There is no fixed rate per shutter, because the rate itself moves with quantity. Sheet materials come in fixed sizes, so a job needing ten and a half sheets buys eleven, and the offcut is carried by that job rather than the next one. A larger, simpler run therefore prices better per square foot than a small one with many odd sizes.

FinishRelative costSuits
PVCEntryRental units and utility runs where cost leads
LaminateMidThe practical default for most family kitchens
MembraneUpper midShaker and profiled looks in one seamless piece
AcrylicPremiumHigh gloss shutters with depth of colour
PUHighestMatte and custom colour where the finish is the point

Relative bands rather than a price list. Hardware, counters and accessories are quoted as separate lines so you can see what each decision costs, and the figure is confirmed in writing after the survey.

On price. We do not set out to be the cheapest quote you receive. What we commit to is a fixed written number after a physical survey, no revision once you accept it, and a clear line between what is included and what is not. Compare quotes properly and make sure you are comparing the same scope.

How Long Does a Kitchen Renovation Take?

A full tear-down and rebuild typically runs twenty five to thirty five working days. A shutters and hardware renovation is a fraction of that, because manufacture happens off site and there is no demolition, masonry or drying time. You keep using the kitchen for most of the job, and we commit to a day count in writing after the survey.

StageWhat happens at your home
SurveyAround two hours. Carcass checks, measurements, existing condition photographed before anything is touched.
Quote and approvalNothing. You receive a fixed written quote and finish samples before committing.
ManufactureNothing. The kitchen stays fully in use while components are made to measured sizes.
FittingThe disruptive window. Dust sheeting, single zone working, debris cleared daily.
HandoverAlignment checked unit by unit, soft close set, written warranty issued.

Because manufacture is off site, shutters and hardware work stays viable through the monsoon, when demolition and wet work are not.

What Your Apartment Association Will Ask For

Most Bengaluru associations ask for advance written notice, a refundable security deposit and dues cleared before work begins. Many restrict working hours, commonly no noise in the early afternoon or after evening, with a penalty for each breach. Debris removal is usually the owner’s responsibility rather than the society’s.

We prepare the notice, provide worker identification for gate registration and schedule the noisy stages inside your society’s permitted hours. Where a deposit is required we tell you the amount before you commit, not after work starts.

This is the most common reason renovation work stalls. Getting the paperwork right on day one is the difference between a job that runs to schedule and one that stops on day two while someone argues at the gate.

When We Tell You to Rebuild Instead

Renovating the shutters is the wrong answer often enough that it is worth publishing the conditions. In any of these cases we recommend rebuilding the affected units, even though it is the smaller sale for us.

01

The base units have swollen through

New shutters on a failing box buy you a year at most, and you end up paying twice.

02

Hinge seats no longer hold a screw

If the board around the screw has softened across most of the kitchen, there is nothing sound to hang new shutters from.

03

The layout is the actual problem

If the working triangle is wrong or the storage is in the wrong place, better looking doors will not change how the kitchen works.

04

Active termite or water damage

Treatment and the leak come first. Renovating over live damage conceals it rather than resolving it.

Kitchen Renovation Bangalore: FAQs

How much does it cost to renovate a kitchen in Bangalore?

It depends entirely on scope. Replacing shutters and hardware on a sound carcass costs a fraction of a rebuild, because you are not paying again for the box, countertop, plumbing or tiling. We price per square foot of the work actually done, with hardware quoted separately. The final figure follows a physical survey.

Can I renovate my kitchen without breaking it down?

In most cases yes. If the carcass is square, dry and still holds a screw, the shutters, hinges, channels and accessories can all be replaced while the box, countertop, backsplash and plumbing stay exactly where they are. This is the difference between a job measured in days and one measured in weeks.

How long does a kitchen renovation take in a Bangalore apartment?

A full tear-down and rebuild typically runs twenty five to thirty five working days. A shutters and hardware renovation is far shorter because components are made off site and fitted in one short window. We commit to a specific day count in writing after the survey.

Do I need permission from my apartment association?

Usually yes. Most Bengaluru societies require advance written notice, a refundable deposit and cleared dues, and many restrict working hours with penalties for breaches. We prepare the paperwork and work inside your society hours.

Is it worth renovating a ten year old modular kitchen?

It depends on the board underneath rather than the age. Particle board tends to fail earliest, plywood lasts considerably longer and HDHMR longer still. If the base units are still firm and dry at ten years, renovating the shutters is usually good value. If they are soft, rebuilding those units is the honest answer.

Will you renovate only part of my kitchen?

Yes. Partial scope is the most common job we do. It is normal to rebuild the two or three base units nearest the sink where water damage concentrates, and retain the rest of the run with new shutters and hardware.

Can the countertop be replaced without removing the cabinets?

Usually yes, provided the carcass is sound enough to take the handling. It is quoted separately from shutter work because it changes both the timeline and the amount of dust in your home.

Do you work during the monsoon?

Shutters and hardware renovation stays viable through the monsoon because manufacture happens off site and there is no demolition, masonry or drying time. Work involving wet trades is better scheduled outside it.

Key Takeaways

  • Scope is decided by the condition of the carcass, not by how old the kitchen looks.
  • Most five to fifteen year old Bengaluru kitchens need shutters and hardware, not a rebuild.
  • Cost tracks scope.
  • Manufacture happens off site, so the disruptive window is short and monsoon work is viable.
  • Association paperwork is handled at the start, because it is the most common cause of stalled jobs.
  • If a rebuild is the honest answer for your kitchen, we will say so at the survey.

If your kitchen still works but no longer looks like it, start with a survey. You will get an honest read on the carcass, a scope recommendation and a fixed written quote. Start With the Survey, Not the Quote

We look at the carcass before we talk about price, because the carcass decides the scope and the scope decides everything else.

Tell us the age of your flat and what is bothering you about the kitchen. We will take it from there.
